Structab AB is headquartered in Halmstad and also has an office in Kungsbacka. We have a small, efficient organization consisting of 15 employees. We have extensive experience in developing electronics intended to work in challenging environments. Our products are primarily aimed at the area of mobile data systems, where we develop both hardware and software.
The manufacturing of our products is done through subcontracting at Propoint AB in Kungsbacka. This provides our customers with security.

Idea & History
Structab AB was founded in Halmstad in 1994 by Jan Åkesson and Mikael Andersson. Both have extensive experience in the development of taximeters since the early 1980s when they worked at Haldex taximeter division.
In 1996, Megtax was launched, which with its open interfaces and the possibility of integration with existing booking and accounting systems was something completely new. Already in 1998, the user association MAG (Megtax User Group) was formed, which has since participated in product development to achieve common goals. At an early stage, contact was established with Holmedal Data, which undertook to develop a new traffic management system with integrated accounting that would make the Megtax concept the complete business system for taxi.
Since 1999, Megtax has also been available on the Norwegian market. In 2006, a completely new control panel with a color screen was introduced. In 2009, a completely new taximeter, MT350, was developed, with Taxi Stockholm as the first customer, and together with MT310, which was introduced in 2011, it complies with the new Measuring Instruments Directive (MID).
Since June 2012, Structab has been part of the Danish Frogne Group, which with its 40-year history in mobile communication provides a solid platform for future expansion. Today, Structab has significant market shares in both Sweden and Norway and has been present in Finland since 2013 with Taxi Helsinki.
In May 2017, Structab's Reporting Center was opened, which today handles more than a third of Sweden's taxi vehicles.
In June 2019, MegTax 410 was launched with Android and the unique operational mode, which makes the driver's everyday life easier thanks to smarter solutions.
During 2025, we plan to launch the latest addition to the MegTax family, MegTax 550.
